With a solid qualifying, finishing 28th out of 80, and tech/contigency going off without a hitch, Chasemotorsports was pumped and ready for action. They waited for the morning of February 4th...the Parker 425 start! Driver Travis Chase and co driver Jeff Lievense were feeling extremely confident in the race course, the race car, and their ability! The 1595 car had a beautiful start but during the first lap the car encountered 2 flat tires! Both tires were fixed within minutes and Chase Motorsports were back in action. On the first lap the 1595 car was gaining speed/ momentum and finding its groove. Then during the second half of the 1st lap Travis radioed to main pit that he was having throttle issues, so when he came in for a pit the team zip tied his foot to the pedal, thus alleviating any problems there! And once again the car was off! This time Travis and Jeff could feel a top 10 finish as they were passing other class 1 cars one at a time! As the car came in for its 3rd and final lap the team learned that the 1595 car had lost a cylindar, but that Travis and Jeff were not going to let that get in the way of a strong finish, and boy did they hold up their end of the bargain! As Chase Motorsports crossed the finish line they came in 8th place in their class and 16th overall!!!! Such an amazing start to the 2012 race season and it all is thanks to the volunteers at the race shop, the new race car, owner/ driver Don Chase, the support of the families and of course driver and co driver! WAY TO GO TEAM!! Now get that car torn down and ready for the MINT 400 in March!

Parker is here and the race team is currently loading and packing up to head out tomorrow afternoon! The team was able to squeak one final test run in out in Barstow CA over the weekend and now feel even better than ever! Chase Motorsports can't wait to see what this season has in store for the team and are very eager to kick off the season this weekend in PARKER AZ!!! We can't wait to see all the teams out there and we wish everyone the best of luck!

With 2012 upon us Chase Motorsports is working overtime in order to be at their top performance for the BITD race season! A New Year A New Goal of taking home a 2012 BITD Championship! First up the Parker 500 on the weekend of February 3rd. The team is fresh off a super successful Parker Pre Run Fun and are now fine tuning the race car for a solid race in just a few short weeks! The team had an amazing holiday season and are all anxious to get back out on the race course! Hope to see you out there too!

With perfect weather, a perfect pit crew and perfect attitudes Team SAVE THE TATA's couldn't have asked for a better time raising money for a good cause! Mother and Daughter rival drivers were pumped and the cars were full with motivated navigators and back seat riders! Our cars 1395 and 1396 started in 8th and 9th place and were both going strong off the start! With 28 mile loops and lots of rugged terrain, 1396 and 1395 gave it their all! Both mother and daughter team were neck and neck up through ant hill but a few miles later 1396, driven by Sandy Chase, caught some clean air and passed our 1395 car, driven by Kari Richey, who got stuck in the dust!
Throughout the race both cars gained momentum and kept passing other 1350 class cars, until 1395 broke a heim on lap 3 and was sadly taken out of the race! But thankfully everyone was safe and still in good spirits and with the help of the Missing Lenk team they were pulled to safety off the race course and with enough time to cheer on our other race car!!!
By lap 3 the 1396 car was continually gaining and when Sandy learned that she was steadily catching the 1st place car, she saw the checkers and really started racing! She stepped on that gas and caught the lead car by lap 4 and finished with a strong 1st place approx 1 minute ahead of the 2nd place team! WAY TO GO SANDY CHASE, ALICIA LIEVENSE, DAWN BEAUCHAMP, and KIM for your 1st place win! and WAY TO GO to KARI RICHEY, ANDREA CHASE, MINDY BUYER, and CASSIE JANOSIK for being amazing competitors with great attitudes!
CHEERS! to our CHASE MOTORSPORTS TEAM, and CHEERS to BREAST CANCER AWARENSS!!! We are sure to double podium next year!

With a rough start to our 2011 year Chase Motorsports is really looking forward to the 2011 Powder Puff/ Breast Cancer Awareness race this weekend in Barstow! And for the first time we will have 2 cars racing, so let the games begin! The Dune car will be driven by none other than "Speed Racer" Sandy Chase with Co Driver Alicia Lievense, and the buckshot will be driver by "Take no prisoners" Kari Richey with Co Driver Andrea Chase! The race is on October 8th in Barstow CA off of Outlet Center Drive and all proceeds go Breast Cancer Awareness, so come on out and support and amazing cause and and amazing team! 2011 is here and Chase Motorsports is gearing up and prepping for their first race of the year! On March 26th the team can be found at the MINT 400 in Las Vegas, NV. Thanks to a little time off and the addition of a new car, the team is in high spirits and ready to take on the 2011 season with all they have! See you in a few days!

PS. The team is also celebrating their newest member, Becker Robert Chase who was born on January 22nd, and they are eagerly awaiting Wyatt Chase Richey who is to be born March 22nd! Cheers to our growing team!!!

"2010 was a pinnacle season for Chase Motorsports. Their first season in the big leagues (BITD) Don Chase and his son Travis Chase accomplished all three goals they set for the team. 1- Finish every mile of every race. 2-Finish top 5 in year end points. 3-Win Rookie of The Year. They added a bonus by finishing 2nd in class and 5th overall at the last race of the year, Henderson. None of these would have been possible without our great group of La Crescenta volunteers. This crew works tirelessly throughout the year because DNF is not in their vocabulary. Don started racing back in 1983 with Bob Stockton. They raced until 1995 with great success. In 2005 Travis, who was racing motorcycles at the time, convinced pops they should dust off the old 1600 and go racing for pop's birthday. Friends and family came out and Chase Motorsports was born. After racing just a few races a year, Don recognized Travis' talent in the HP prerunners and decided to move up to class 1500 for 2010. There is no question that the old guy can't keep pace with Travis but it is a father son team first. The key ideals that make Chase Motorsports are; to work hard, play harder and keep your family and friends close. After all that is what life is all about. Travis and his wife Andrea will be adding their second son to the offroad community on January 31st. Watch for these kids ripping up the desert near you in the future."

On the morning of Dec 4th the 1600 ( 2095 car ) was prepped and ready to go. Travis Chase and Kyle Quinn started the first lap with a strong start but when the 1600 rolled into main pit there was an oil issue. The team did a quick fix in hopes that the car would hold up. After the first lap Jamie Richey jumped in to codrive with Kyle Quinn now at the wheel. The duo was hoping the fix had worked until the oil issue acted up again and the team had to pull the 1600 car. The 1600 did not finish at Henderson 250 but will be up and ready to go the following weekend in Laughlin Nevada for the upcoming SNORE race. Stay tuned and good luck James Richey and Kyle Quinn!

The points standings for Best In The Desert’s five-race “American Off-Road Racing Series” overall and class championships are getting even tighter after the running of the very popular and safe “double points” Vegas to Reno race last month.

Only one point separates the top two in not only the overall but also the Class 1500 leaders with Steve Croll having sitting in the top spot with 361 points over second place Chris Appleton with 360 points. Not far behind are Vince Galewick (third, 331 points), Chris Kemp and Travis Chase (tied for fourth, 324 points each), and Adam Pfankuch (fifth, 316 points) as Class 1500 racers make up the majority of the top ten overall points standings. This is due largely to the tight competition and the consistently huge field of open Class 1500 cars that Best In The Desert attracts for their races.

Leading the Class 7200 field and coming in sixth overall is Alan A. Hogan with 309 points. The Trick Truck standings are extremely tight as well with Marc Ewing (304 points) holding a narrow margin of only 3 points over B.J. Baldwin (301points) as the two sit at seventh and eighth overall. At ninth overall is Class 2000 leader Kevin Smith with 295 points. Current Class 1100 leader Lee Banning Sr., with 288 points, rounds out the overall top ten.

Other Best In The Desert class points leaders include John Hsu (260 points), Class 1000; Troy Vest (275 points), Class 1200; John Helton (222 points), Class 1700 JeepSpeed; Kevin Smith (Class 2000), Dave Schneider (256 points), Class 4400 Utra4; Louis Chamberland (223 points), Class 6000 Trophylite; Blake Henn (267 points), Class 7100; Kellon Walch (195 points), Class 7300; Macrae Glass (276 points), Class 8000; and Tim Casey (269 points), Class 8100.

Having a great rookie year so far is Chris Appleton. Not only is he one point shy of the overall points standings, he also sits in the top spot for the coveted “Rookie of the Year” award with 360 points. Still within striking distance of him and tied for second place with 324 points each, is “Vegas to Reno” race winner Chris Kemp and Travis Chase. All three are Class 1500 drivers.

The tight points battles will only add to the excitement for the next race on the Best In The Desert 2010 calendar, the all new BlueWater Desert Challenge in Parker, AZ, October 15-17, hosted by the BlueWater Resort & Casino. This is the newest off-road desert race in “The American Off-Road Racing Series” and features an action packed 2-day loop-race format. Two full days of non-stop racing on a exciting all new course that includes the likes of John Wayne’s Gorge, Marilyn’s Romp, The Matterhorn, The Sand Pile, Parker River Run, The New Thunder Alley and The Snake Pit. The BlueWater Desert Challenge is sure to quickly become one of the all-time favorite for off-road racers. All this plus the beautiful Colorado River in mid October...you definitely won’t want to miss out on the next great Best In The Desert adventure.

Strong and Steady finishes the race! After a grueling 12 hours and some fuel pick up issues Chase Motorsports was closing in on the finish line! By 10pm Travis Chase and Jason Lighthart raced a long hard race and managed to bring the car in with a 12th place finish! Way to go guys! With a starting place of 48th and finishing place of 12th, we can strongly say we raced smart and strong! Congratulations for a 12th place finish and thank you to both Don Chase, Travis Chase, Brad Beauchamp, Jason Lighthart and the entire Chase Motorsports team for making it possible!

At Pit 6 Driver Travis Chase and Co Driver Jason Lighthart were gearing up for the driver change. With the race going smoothly both driver and co driver wanted to have an equally smooth transition into the car. The car was topped off, mirrors wiped down, driver changed in under 2 minutes, thanks to the preparation of both sets of drivers and the Chase Motorsports team! Don Chase handed over the car in high spirits and sent son Travis Chase out for the 2nd leg of the 500 mile race!

The Barstow 250

Last weekend the Chase Motorsports team loaded up and headed out to Barstow for the MORE Freedom 250 race. The team decided with the bit of downtime they have had in between BITD races, why not get some more miles under the 1600 drivers, James Richey and Kyle Quinn! This race was a night race and didn't end until the wee hours, but the team held strong despite a few hiccups and finished with a strong 9th place finish! Way to go to Jamie and Kyle, you both sure are troopers. A special shout out goes to all the members of Chase Motorsports who supported the 1600, wether it was through prep work or pitting! Balls Out 2010 in Bastow CA!

Chase Motorsports hits the Balls Out 250 in Barstow CA for the second year in a row, and once again they were pumped and ready to have some fun but with a slight difference. This year driver James Richey got behind the wheel of the 1600 for the first 5 laps and swapped with driver Kyle Quinn for the last 4 laps. James Richey started in 15th place and was looking for his first race finish by driving smoothly and smartly, and that's just what he did. By the time Kyle Quinn jumped into the driver seat Jamie had gained several spots and he was looking to bring the 1600 into a strong finish in a top 10 spot. Little did the team know that Kyle was going to take the car to the next level and bring in the 1600 with a 5th place finish! Way to go Jamie and Kyle...we couldn't be more happy with the results of the Balls Out 250 for 2010! We can't wait to see what you guys can do in the next race! Congratulations!

After hours of racing, and 425 miles completed, Don Chase and Brad Beauchamp crossed the finish line in 11th place. While out on the courses 3rd lap, Chase motorsports' Don and Brad were holding strong in 2nd place when a cv broke and the car had to be towed by a BITD official to be fixed. After the mishap the team lost several places but once they were back on course they were able to recover quite a few and hold strong at a proud 11th place! Team Chase Motorsports finished their first B.I.T.D race and we could not be more proud. Congratulations to everyone!!!! See you in Vegas in April!

Pit Stops & Driver Swaps!

After the 2nd lap for chase motorsports it was time for a pit stop and driver swap. Travis Chase and Jake Lauxen were holding strong in approximately 3rd place and were ready for Don Chase and Brad Beauchamp to jump in for the finishing 3rd lap. Under the advice of crew chief Jeff Lievense the boys also needed to stop in at the main pit in order to top off on gas and double check the car. Once all was in order the boys were sent out on their 3rd and final lap! Here we go!

After a successful start for both the 2095 car and 1595 car, car 2095 ran into motor trouble half way around the first 148 mile lap and had to bow out of the race. Even though the team was disappointed in the 2095 car, they figured out exactly what went wrong and are excited to work on the car and get it prepped and ready for the April 23rd race Silver State 300! Instead of dwelling on the 2095 car the Chase Motorsports crew focused all their energy now on the 1595 car which was looking incredibly strong and after a 16th place start was gaining speed and spots out on the race course. After coming in for the 1st pit stop car 1595 was sitting in around 5th place and was looking to gain more!

Here are a few shots of both the 1595 and 2095 car at the starting line. The start of the race took place in downtown Parker and actually started on pavement, only to fly straight, bank left and out into the open desert! Both cars had an incredibly smooth and fast start, such a great beginning to a long race!

It was an early morning as Chase Motorsports assembled at the house and geared up the cars to head over to the starting line. Starting in the 1 car were driver Travis Chase and co driver Jake Lauxen, to be relieved by Don Chase and co driver Brad Beauchamp, and starting in the 2095 car was driver Brian Wilson, to be relieved by James Richey. The whole team was dispersed into their respective spots, between main pit, pits 1-4, and with the cars and couldn't have been more prepared. On Friday Chase Motorsports got settled in Parker AZ for the BITD Parker 425, and then headed to downtown where it was their turn to be looked over by tech and contingency. At tech excitement was high and the boys were ready and rearing to go. Not only were they excited for their first BITD race, but it was a chance to get to know some of the other teams and check out their cars.

This past month Chase Motorsports loaded up and headed out to Parker AZ for the designated Pre-run weekend. Not only did the cars run smoothly, but the team got a good feel for the race track. On Feb 6th the boys will be competing in their first Best In the Desert race and they are doing everything they can to be as prepared as possible. And last but not least it was time to announce the M.O.R.E 2009 Class 1 Champions, and the award goes to Car 195 Chase Motorsports! The awards lunhcheon was held at Rosita's Cantina on main street in Barstow at 12:30pm. At the luncheon the team had a great time getting together with other race teams and celebrating together. First and foremost "Happy New Year" everyone! For Chase Motorsports last year held lots of ups and successes for the team and we are certainly hoping to do the same in 2010 with a bigger and different field. Coming with a championship under their belt with M.O.R.E team Chase Motorsports has set their sites on a new challenge this year with Best In The Desert, B.I.T.D. The first B.I.T.D race will be in Parker AZ on the weekend of February 6th, but before then the team has a lot of work and prep to do. First they need to attend the M.O.R.E championship awards ceremony in Barstow, CA, on Saturday January 16th, and then it's time to get dirty tearing down the one and 16 cars and rebuild them for Parker. Stay tuned for more updates on the new race season!

Thanks to the hard work and nights of prep, the 195 car finished with the 2nd place spot in the Toys 4 Tots race. The whole team was ecstatic and no one was more pround than Don Chase. It feels amazing to the whole team that on their first year out they secured the 2009 M.O.R.E Class Championship. At the awards ceremony the drivers thanked their team, without whom they wouldn't be able to race, their sponsors, all their friends and family members and of course their wives. They look forward to January 16th, 2010 where they will be attending the Championship awards ceremony for the M.O.R.E 2009 race season. We hope to see you all there! On the morning of Dec 5th, the 1695, 1623 and the 195 cars hit the dirt in hopes of not only finishing the Toys 4 Tots race, but taking home trophies as well. The 1695 car hit a couple bumps in the road and ended up having to pull out early in lap 3, but the team is already working on putting in a new motor and getting back out there for race season 2010! The 1623 was running strong all day, driven by Kevin Coleman & Kyle Quinn. The only problem all day for the car was a front flat. The 1623 car finished with a respectable 4th place. This is Kevin's first finish and Kyle's first desert race. Meanwhile the 195 car had a 2009 Championship in there scopes. All Don Chase and Travis Chase had to do was run a steady, safe race with a solid finish and they would be named the 2009 M.O.R.E offroad Champion in Class 1. That is exactly what they did and some! Don and Travis along with co-drivers Chad Weaver and Jason Lighthart picked all the right lines, made all quick pits, and drove into not only the 2009 Championship spot, but they took 2nd place in the Toys 4 Tots race as well. Chase Motorsports wants to thank not only the drivers, but all the volunteers who withstood the cold elements last weekend in support of our cars! We couldn't have done it without you!

Playtime Before Racetime!

Over Veteran's weekend, the Chase Motorsports team along with friends and family geared up and made their way out to the Glamis Dunes. The team realized that they needed some down time in between working in the race shop and prepping for the Toys 4 Tots race in Barstow on December 5th, so they took the race car out for some playtime before racetime! The race car performed like a champ and no one was more pleased than the team! All in all it was a fun, safe weekend with lots of speed and duning! Save the Tata's Takes Second!

With team Save the Tata's second off the line Kari and Andrea knew they had to be smart and steady, but most of all they knew that they had to have FUN!!! After 2 laps and 2 hours they were holding a strong 3rd and had 8 minutes on the 4th place car, the ladies got the go ahead to head into pit and pick up their 2 other co-drivers, Alicia and Mindy! Kari and Andrea were so excited that they zoomed into pit grabbed the girls in under a minute and were back on the course ready to take over the 2nd place spot. With Alicia and Mindy in the car Kari and Andrea were newly regenerized and pumped for the 2nd half of the race. After the 3rd lap the ladies made it to start finish under the cut off time and were sent out on their 4th and final lap looking to finish the race with a bang! With only 7 miles left to go on the final lap the race course was covered with broken down, overturned, overheated vehicles and Save the Tata's was still going strong, suddenly the ladies saw the car they had been chasing all race on the side of the road and they knew they had to push to get to the finish line before the other car was back on the road!......AND THEY DID!!! All 4 girls road the buckshot through the finish line, with cheers and screams and a 2nd place trophy waiting! Way to go ladies and thanks to Team Chase Motorsports for all their support and hard work, they couldn't have done it without you!

After the craziest most event filled tech and contingency team Chase Motorsports was pumped up and ready for a good race. The event had over 200 entrants, the biggest turn out in Powder Puff history, so M.O.R.E racing had to add on 7 miles and break up the race into 2 main events. On race day Kari Richey, driver, and Andrea Chase, co-driver, were full of butterflies while gearing up for the start of the race. They knew they had to get a clean start to hold their second place position and be able to have a fast pit stop and pick up Alicia Leviense and Mindy Meenk for the 2nd half of the race.

Powder Puff Prep!

This past month has been super hectic and exciting for Chase Motorsports with the preparation for our team's first ever Powder Puff Race! The whole team has been so supportive of getting the wives in the buckshot to race for a good cause, but in order to do so there was a lot of work that had to be done on the car. Not only did the car need new pink ribbon graphics, plus graphics recognizing breast cancer survivors, fighters and victims, but it also needed a major overhaul including a new rear end cage. The boys worked up until the day before the race ensuring the safety of the car and that the car was ready for tech and contingency! During the last week of prep work not only was Kari Richey, Andrea Chase, Alicia Leviense and Mindy Meenk anticipating the upcoming race, but our team-mate Monique Coleman was welcoming her second child, Cameron Coleman, with her husband Kevin. CONGRATULATIONS to you both! We love you!

Here a few words from him as to his experience out on the track...

What an amazing day for the CHASE MOTORSPORTS team. First off the line, fast lap, and first place! After turning wrenches on the Class 1 car since last December I was given my first opportunity to co-drive the first 3 laps with Travis. After leading the pack through lap two with a good lead Don Chase radioed in an offer for us to both stay in the car and finish the race. We jumped on the chance. Our pit support was excellent as always. I now know how much it means to look out of the car and see your own guys ready and waiting in case they are needed. I will have a new sense of worth when I'm back out there all day in the dirt hoping to lend a hand but also wanting the car to go right by me with no problems to report. Our fuel stop after lap 3 went flawless and we were in and out quick. I can't thank the guys (and girls, wives, mothers, sisters) enough for being there. There are too many names to mention. Also a HUGE thank you to Don Chase for giving me the opportunity to co-drive with his son Travis. It is a day I will never forget. I have learned so much from you guys over the last couple of years and had a great time doing it. I not only feel like a part of the team but also a part of the family.

1st in Class and THE OVERALL!

At approximately 1pm Travis Chase and Jeff Lievense sped to the finish to solidify that 1st place win and the OVERALL! This was a first for the Chase Motorsports team and hopefully not the last. Thanks to all the hard work of every member of the team and thanks to the steady fast pace of the driver and co-driver, the team has never felt better. It's Pit Time!

By the 3rd lap of the Chili Cookoff 250 Travis Chase and Jeff Lievense were not only leading the race without any hiccups, they had a chance to take the overall! So instead of swapping drivers and co-drivers after the 3rd lap Team Leader Don Chase asked Travis and Jeff if they could run the whole race and simply come in for a fuel stop. This would shave at least 4 minutes off the pit stop and allow the boys to continue to lead and chase down that overall win! Travis and Jeff were up for the challenge, so in they came for a quick fuel up, thanks to the Chase Motorsports team, and out they went to get that WIN!!!

Start Your Engines

On the morning of Sept 12th at 8:15 am Travis Chase and Jeff Lievense jumped into car 195 geared up, ready to race, and headed to the starting line. When the car got to the starting line they soon learned that instead of 2nd off the line, they were actually going to be 1st off the line (leaders of the pack). This meant more nerves, but it also meant CLEAN AIR! With their nerves set aside the guys had a super clean start and the team looked great from the very beginning. Tech & Contingency

After a long day of pre-running and prep work the team was geared up and ready to head toward tech and contingency. Everyone was in great spirits cheking out all the other cars and really enjoyed some down time spent with family and friends. As with earlier that day Tech & Contingency went off without a hitch as the car and its drivers were cleared for race time. Now it was time to head back to camp for a good night sleep because it was early racing in the morning, with an 8:30 am start time and car 195 2nd off the start. Good luck team Chase Motorsports!

Chili Cook Off 250 Pre-running & Prep

On Friday, Sept 11th, the Chase Motorsports team geared up for a long day of car prep, team prep and pre-running. It started with driver Travis Chase and co-driver Jeff Lievense taking a hot lap in the bucksot to map out all obstacles and turns that they will encounter the following Monday. When the boys returned they switched to the 195 car car and upon arrival from the course decided that the front end was a little stiff and from there the team jumped into gear. First, the side panels were taken off and then the front shocks were adjusted. Next driver Don Chase and co-driver James Richey jumped in car 195 to test out the adjustments and get a feel for the course as well. The team had many supporters, friends and family that showed up early to help set up for the race, and they are very very grateful. THANK YOU!

New Helmets!

Chase motorsports is slowly but surely becoming a completely united front by getting all graphics and touchpoints uniform in design. The newest installment of which is the drivers new helmets and paint job thanks to Pete Vilander. Each driver got to work with the artist to specially design their new helmets with the race team colors in mind. Be sure to keep an eye out for them in the desert and at the race this weekend.

Tuesday Night Mayhem!

Every Tuesday night, and sometimes Thursday nights, the Chase Motorsports team gets together at the race shop in Glendale for the always continuous prep! There is never a dull moment at the race shop, full of new/ old tires, 4 off road cars, ton and tons of tools, loud music and constant bantor. You can always here the bzzz of a grinder or the purrrr of an engine, which is one of the many reasons all the guys love to go down there! Each volunteer and member of the Chase Motorsports team works like a well oiled machine. They all have their assigned job and they know how to do it! If there are ever any questions they simply look up at the communication board or ask a team member. Keep up the good work team CHASE MOTORSPORTS!

Barstow Freedom 250 Don Chase recounts...

It was a late afternoon start, 6:00 PM, in the 114 degree Barstow desert for driver Don Chase and Navigator Chad Weaver in the Chase Motorsport Porter Class 1. Due to the number of entries cars started 10 seconds apart. They decided to run a steady pace rather than force their way through the dust, knowing that the night does strange things to racecars. As they approched the 20 Mile mark where the course crossed Stardard Wells road, the #109 had crashed and the course workers jumped out in front of the car to stop them, as Don braked the car slid accross Stoddard wells doing a 360 on the slick graded road. Fortunately no one was close behind and they were able to restart and complete the lap in 46.01. The second lap was very dusty catching the jeep speeds and other late starters. The plan was to change drivers after 2 laps to give Travis Chase and Jason Lighthart some day light. The driver change and F&L fuel went smooth they turned on the Baja Design Sol-Teck lights and headed out. Don turned the car over in 4th place. Travis' young eyes helped him run 45 minute laps and move into 2nd place after 5 laps about 1.35 behind Sean Dunn. He took a quick splash of F&L racing fuel and was off into the night hoping Sean might have a problem. Travis was able to close down to 14 seconds on the road but could never pass Sean. Travis said that the Sol-Tek lites worked perfect, the Goodyears hooked up great with no flats, and the Ford power was awesome. The good news is that this puts Travis in the points lead for class 1, in their first season. The Barstow Freedom 250

Chase Motorsports #195 took 2nd in class 1 and 2nd overall at the MORE Freedom 250 in Barstow . This gave them the Class 1 points lead, in their first season racing Class 1.

After several steady races we have truly found our groove at the Barstow 250 on July 18th. This race was a night race and we had 3 participating cars...2 class 1600's and the class 1. In the class 1 car, 195, Don Chase started out strong and steady, with Travis Chase taking the wheel after 2 laps and coming in with a second place finish just 15 seconds behind the winner. It was a close and tense race with Travis even making up 2 minutes in the last lap. In the 1695 car Travis Chase started the 1st lap with James Richey taking the wheel for the rest of the race and finishing in a strong 10th. And in our 3rd car the 1623 driver Kevin Coleman went the long haul only to be cut short by a spindle malfunction, but still able to pull out a 12th place finish. The team is pumped up and already prepping for the next race in October in Lucerne. Currently the 195 car is the points leader in class 1 and the team is not taking that for granted.
